How To Use A Tag-A-Long The materials you’ll need are very simple:
I use a Palomar knot so the first thing I do is to tie the leader to the barrel swivel. I then tie the leader to the main line from my rod to the other end of the swivel. So at this point all you have is the main line and leader. Next come down the leader about 3 to 4 inches and tie the Tag-A-Long on using a simple loop knot. I use one where I put my line through the eye of the Tag-A-Long and then simply pull a loop around my fingers and put the lure through a simple double over hand knot and pull it tight. Then I go to the end of the leader and tie on my slab/jigging spoon. The best way to make sure you catch some doubles is to set the hook on the first fish then just hold pressure DON”T REEL UP until you feel the second fish take the other bait. Sometimes a Tag-A-Long will help you catch fish that are suspended slightly off the bottom and are looking for an easier meal. |
